Abstract Study on the regional geology, metallogenic condition and deposit characteristics shows that the Zhulazhaga gold deposit is controlled by the strata of Agulugou Formation, Zhaertaishan group, Mesoproterozoic Erathem. The orebodies generally occur as layers along the beds, consistent with the occurrence of the ore-controlling strata. It is considered that the gold deposit belongs to stratabound type. The key area of ore prospecting is on the west of the deposit. Regionally, the Mesoproterozoic strata in Wulanneihasha-Zhulazhagamaodao-hubuhaote area are the likely prospecting targets.
